Atmospheric thermodynamics and dynamics during convective, stratiform and nonprecipitating clouds over the metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro – Brazil

Physical mechanisms involved in the development and forecast of clouds precipitation are both quite complex dependent on local atmospheric environment, especially when severe weather conditions imminent. Research aimed at understanding environmental favorable to different scenarios can help operational forecasters issue warnings. This paper provides qualitative quantitative contributions from radiosondes, radar, numerical simulations evaluate formation convective, stratiform, nonprecipitating over metropolitan area Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
